Superb for Voiceovers

"I am a voiceover artist and usually only need one input at a time. I use an RE20 for a lot of my work and one thing that mic needs is gain. How about 63dB from the One! All I want is pure voice for my recordings and the One lets me do that with no pre if I want to. This is the new interface for my home stdio and will be great as I travel in the months ahead.

I don't know how to explain it, but the audio I record through the One sounds noticeably better than my current interface. (I won't mention any names but it's Avidly Mini.) :) I can actually hear a difference in the finished voiceover between the interfaces. Chalk it up to the Apogee name and quality conversion perhaps?"

AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"I can't say enough about this little monster! I love it. I was looking for a solution to recording while I was on the road in hotel rooms. I wanted something that was small and compact and didn't require me to carry an extra suticase of crap that by the time I set it up I lost my inspiration, and in walked the Apogee One! The sound is Beautiful, the internal mic is crisp and clean, the controls are simple. If you want something that is reliable and ready to go when you are GET THIS INTERFACE!!!! IT ROCKS!!!!!!!!"

One is Just Amazing

"I just picked this up and WOW I play Flamenco and Classical guitar as well as rock. I have a recording studio as well. I downloaded Apogee's update for ONE and was up and running in less then 5 min. The internal "Tuned Aperture Microphone" sounds amazing as well. This will be so easy to capture ideas when on the go. I can see using this for podcasts and voice overs as well. This is the best 250.00 on pro audio gear that I have spent. I have owned Apogee's products Ensemble and Duet. I just love this ONE for me its perfect, I take my Mac Book Pro and One and I have a studio ready to go anywhere when I travel. You may need to play with the levels but this is by far the best audio interface out there in this price point. "

Thanks Apogee.

Incredible. Iconic. Simple.

"I bought this device HOPING it would be the device I was looking for. It is SO MUCH MORE. I wasn't very tech savvy and I was threatened by the idea of purchasing the ONE and not being able to configure and/or use it. When I got it in the mail, I was drooling. I felt like the kid from A Christmas Story, getting his new Red Rider BB gun! It hooked up in less than a minute...maybe two. All I had to do was follow prompts and press yes or no a couple times. That's it. The sound quality is another factor that scared me. Being a digital device with one "hole" to pick up audio made me nervous. It is unreal. The playback is super smooth and it picks up the slightest sounds. It's a super mic. Once the initial installation is complete, you can hook up and start recording in less than 20 seconds from then on out! Thank you Apogee. You've made me a customer for life. GREAT product. Kudos to the developers."

Best purchase of the past year

"Its ease of use is marvelous, it seamlessly integrated with Mainstage and Logic. And sound quality...I was skeptical of the advertisements claiming "rediscovery" of my music collection. Well, they're true."

Best sounding audio interface I've used yet

"I have owned USB and FireWire audio interfaces from probably a dozen companies and I'd say that the Apogee ONE sounds the best of all."

Awesome

"This thing is amazing. It's the size of an Ipod and pumps out pristine sound. It syncs up to Logic in a matter of seconds. I immediately plugged in my guitar and started playing... the sound was amazing. Such a cool little device, and perfect for remote sessions. I used it to replace a Motu 828, and won't look back, I haven't yet tried the built in condenser though, I'm really curious about the quality that produces."

"...[ONE] provides a lot of flexibility, great sound from instruments and microphones plugged into it, and good voice quality from a device that isn’t designed to work only as a microphone."

Pro Audio Review: March 2011

"…I wouldn't hesitate to use [ONE] to capture a critical lead vocal or instrument overdub if I was working in a hotel, apartment or somewhere else on the move; its sound quality is beyond anything I've encountered in the same price range and on par with that of other Apogee products."

"Once again we were extremely impressed because the on board mic sounds ultra clean... With the ONE microphone you’re certainly not restricted to sketching out your ideas with a view to re-recording them later."

"The ONE also has an internal studio-quality condenser mic in a specially tuned enclosure. Set it up with the optional custom mic mount and you’re ready to capture great sound. Ideal for knocking up a song demo or for podcasting."

"The guitar input and external mic inputs are clear, clean, and vibrant, but the real surprise here is the internal mic. Apogee makes a big deal of its Tuned Aperture technology, but marketspeak aside, this little capsule sounds really good and is much more than a cute add-on."

"Having an interface with a single channel of Apogee pre-amplification along with a reasonable quality on-board microphone may be all you need to complete that magnum opus, that dialogue, or that effect, before the inspiration gets frittered away by all the faff

"I do believe that the ONE can potentially revolutionize the digital demoing process. It will raise the bar for what we think of as "demo quality", while simultaneously making the hardware aspect of recording as clean and accessible as the software aspect. For those of us who do guard our secrets about transformers and such, we best release our grip on our craft; Apogee has opened to the door of quality audio recording to all of us."

"For a mobile rig, this unit is a godsend, as it can provide not a great playback interface but also a very good preamp/line-input section, as well as that built-in mic for capturing quick ideas...it will certainly give many people a shock when they hear what is possible from such a small unit!"

M Music and Musicians Magazine: January/February 2010

"Since the dawn of USB, we've seen many different mics, cables and preamps with digital audio interfaces onboard. Apogee ONE takes the reverse approach: It's a high-quality single-channel interface with the mic built in."
