The Gio Nothing Else!! Apogee rules!"Having hands free and the ability to interface while recording or playing is the BEST. Tricky to use with the duet im still working on it but im having too much fun playing around with it for now"

Fantastic"I love this pedal. I works great with GarageBand and MainStage. Currently using it with MainStage 1 which requires a bit more setup, but works like a charm. The I/O processing in the pedal is amazing. I never had any latency issues even when I really push it." |
Perfect for Logic recording"Gio eliminates tons of mouse clicking and trips between the computer and the instrument. Truly hands free recording as advertised. It's totally intuitive to guitarists especially if you've used a pedal board... a great extension to bring the virtual power of Logic's amps and pedals back into the musician's world." |
Everything I hoped it would be"I bought this not really for recording but for controlling Mainstage 2. The possibilities are endless with the amp designer and pedalboard designer in Mainstage. The Gio is a very solid piece of equipment. Once Logic 9 was installed, I plugged it in and was controlling Amp presets within seconds. Very easy to use and the footswitch lights are extremely helpful as different colors tell you what type of effect it controls. "

Guitar Player: November, 2011 "It was a joy to work Logic using GiO, as well as to perform onstage with the controller, a Mac- Book Pro, one guitar, and two cables—which all fit into a large gig bag."
Michael Molenda |
Guitar Goddess: November, 2011 "The Apogee GiO makes guitar recording seamless. It allows you to control recording functions, preset changes, plug-ins, playback and loop back features. Gone are the days of running across the room to hit record or pause after you nail your guitar solo."
Ezina LeBlanc |
Macworld: July, 2010 "...helps keep your mind on the music instead of the engineering. For those using Logic and Mainstage 2 in live performance, having a pedalboard like this is almost a necessity."
Chris Breen |
Music Radar: July, 2010 "It provides fuss-free control over things guitarists want when laying tracks in Logic or GarageBand."
Jono Buchanan |
M Music & Musicians Magazine: November, 2010 "GiO puts the fun in functionality for guitarists who want to rock out with their Apple computers”
Doug Doppler |
Guitar World: August, 2010 "The Apogee GiO controller is a brilliantly conceived and executed companion to Logic. It features an elegant layout with five transport buttons, five “stomp box” function buttons, and Previous and Next preset-select buttons at the lowermost corners that enable hands-free and mouse-free operation of Logic”
Chris Gill |
XLR8R: Sept/Oct, 2010 "If you are a Mac-based recording musician with blazing, delicate, or down-right deafening guitar licks in your tracking plans, Apogee's GiO could be your perfect studio companion."
Ryan Edwards |
EQ Magazine: July, 2010 "This is a classy piece of gear. The sound quality is excellent, and the latency is low-Apogee has taken advantage of tight integration with the Mac. Throw in the hands-free control and compatibility with three common Mac music programs used by guitarists, and you might find it easy to justify adding this to your guitar gadget arsenal."
Craig Anderton |
Sound On Sound: June, 2010 "If you're a Mac-using guitar player working with Logic, GarageBand or MainStage, the GiO has much to commend it.”
Paul White |
Premier Guitar: June, 2010 "Within a few minutes of setup, I was importing loops and synths, and then recording multiple hands-free guitar tracks. There’s no doubt that not having to reach over every few seconds to operate the mouse increases your guitar creativity. I really appreciated the ability to quickly step through different amps to find the right sound."
Rich Tozzoli |
Electronic Musician: May, 2010 "All in all, Apogee Electronics’ GiO is a well-built, sturdy USB foot controller that allows users of GarageBand ’09, Logic Studio 9.1, and MainStage 2.1’s built-in Guitar suite to have stompbox and transport control at their feet. It doesn’t offer the kind of alphanumeric feedback I’d love for front-of-stage performance with a computer offstage, but for home use, the GiO is a winner." Orren Merton |
Audio Technology: May, 2010, Issue #74 "I began to marvel once again at how excellently Apogee had integrated itself into Apple hardware... and now its software. For instance, every pedal in the new Logic Pro 9 ‘Pedalboard’ plug-in has its colours represented via coloured LEDs on the GiO stompbox, which allows you to quickly determine which virtual pedals are selected. When Logic Pro 9’s pedalboard plug-in is bypassed, the illuminated LED shines more dimly on the GiO to give you the heads-up. Brilliant!"

Recording Magazine: January, 2010 "Apogee’s newest interface, the GiO, bridges the gap between the guitarist and the Mac with an audio I/O complement and control features well suited to guitar playing. It aims to provide you with everything you need to record guitar and nothing you don’t.”
MIKE METLAY |
Cool Hunting: January, 2010 “The solid, one-and-a-half-foot board's biggest selling point is hands-free control. With 12 on-board buttons, it allows you to control up to five software effects pedals, five dynamically-lit transport controls and scroll through all of your presets without lifting a finger.”

|
USA Today: October, 2009 "Peter Thorn, a Los Angeles guitarist who is currently in Eagle Don Henley's touring group, has used the GiO and says the big advantage is being able to keep his hands on the guitar and not the mouse. "It's just really cool to be able to do it all with your feet, on the floor," he says."

Holiday wish list: James Galbraith Macworld's Lab Director James Galbraith is determined to upgrade his home music studio. He'll need a fast Mac, a good set of headphones, a good microphone, speakers and cool guitar interface. With this gear, the only thing he'll lack is the time to use it.
